Welcome to yet another edition of Self Portrait Saturday friends! These Saturday specials are fun aren't they? I normally stayed away from posting on weekends, but this little series has changed my ways!
I mentioned earlier on my blog that this weekend's theme would be WITH A PROP! You can use any prop at all!
My prop was simple. It was a little faux butterfly. I had been wanting to do some super washed out looking photos for a while now, and the butterfly just seemed to work with the idea, so here are my shots!
^ hehe! I literally took 185 photos trying to get one I liked. I chose these three because they were all a little different. I was annoyed with my hair but I think I was able to pull it off ok.
Tips and Tricks:
- If going for the high contrast/washed out feel, blank backgrounds work best. I had to photoshop out the corners of my chair because they looked odd.
- If you're wondering how to get a high contrast feel, try playing around with the Curves settings in Photoshop. (Image > Adjustments > Curves). There's more to it than that, but it's a good starting point.
One of my favs submitted from last week:
Danielle's extreme closeup. I love the composition and the pop of colour from her headband and lips!
Time to grab your cameras and play along! Grab a prop and let's go! Don't forget to grab this button and add it to your post :) I want other people to see it and play along! Spread the self portrait love!

Gorgeous pictures! I love the last one, ahaha.
