When I was little, my absolute favourite movie was The Secret Garden. Ok, it's probably still one of my favourite movies ever.  I was obsessed with the idea of the fantasy world that was created, only in the movie it wasn't a fantasy at all, it was real. I think that's why I loved it so much. A real secret garden could exist anywhere in the world. There is no magic to it, just nature. As a child I lusted to find my very own secret garden, checking ivy covered walls for secret doors.  I haven't found one just yet, but I'll take what I can get... my backyard comes pretty close. I could get lost in there, admiring everything in sight and sneaking up on chipmunks in an attempt to see how close I can get. Maybe secretly hoping they'll lead me towards that secret door? Probably not but at least I can say I tried haha.

What was your favourite movie as a child?

  4. The Secret Garden was definitely one of my favourite films as a child, I would watch it constantly at my Grandma's, as well as The Slipper and the Rose. My Grandma would always tell me I looked like Mary in TSG (which used to annoy me slightly because she was so stubborn).

  7. Beautiful pictures :)

I can honestly say that it's been so long since I've seen The Secret Garden, I can't remember anything about it. I suppose I should watch it again.

I had so many different favorite movies as a child...we loved movies, and watched a lot of them. I remember wishing that I had a flying car like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...or that I lived in a chocolate factory like Willy Wonka.

  10. The Secret Garden is a great book :) I love your outfit in this, it's really pretty.
My favourite movie as a child was The Aristocats. Also Beetlejuice xD
I always liked The Aristocats though because it had cats in it and I have a feline-obsession. I always thought being a cat would be better than being a Disney princess :D

  11. Recently on our house hunt we saw a house IN a secret garden. The house had this long driveway and the house was nestled away in a residential area. You opened a door set into some tall tall bushes and you entered this totally different magical garden world. It took all my willpower not to buy that house as the house itself didn't fit our needs unfortunately. But it was beautiful!!

  12. One of my favorite childhood movies was Wild Heart Can't Be Broken. It wasn't nearly as popular as The Secret Garden. In fact, most people I've met have never even heard of it, but I absolutely love(d) it. I still have it in my movie collection at home.

  24. Your outfit looks so beautiful. I loved the Secret Garden when I was little - it would make me cry and cry and yet somehow I loved it regardless. I created my own secret garden out the back of our yard where there was this old ivy covered arbour and seat. I miss that spot! x
