Fact: sometimes when I'm in the woods alone, I scare myself into thinking coyotes are going to come out and eat me. I plan my getaway in my head every time I enter the forest. This time, I was ready to knock one in the head with my tripod if it messed with me. Thankfully, my prince rode up on his white horse (aka mountain bike) to save me from potential situations.... and completely crazy thoughts. (and no, his face doesn't normally look like that... such a goof!)

Have you ever had a run-in with a coyote? I honestly don't know what I would do!

    2. however I suppose you never know what you would have just said in coyote which could cause further issue you may have asked him what the time is or whether he is hungry. I suggest to take your pocket coyote phrasebook with you... :)

  2. i love your outfit :)

i've never had a run in with a coyote, but my uncle got attacked my wolves once! he lives in Boise, ID and was elk hunting in the fall when a pack of wolves surrounded him and started to attack. he had to shoot the pack leader with his handgun, but it was a brand new gun, not sighted in and he missed, so while the other wolves ran away cause they were scared of the noise, he had to take care of the pack leader again. so scary!

  3. I have definitely seen coyotes! AND since I live in the mountains I can hear them all the time. Sometimes I just leave my window open and fall asleep to their cries.

  13. I ran into a coyote walking through the trail routes at Stanley Park in Vancouver, just two weeks ago. I like to go on the trails that the tourists don't know about. Luckily I was with a friend and we scared it off. As soon as it saw us it bolted. I think they are usually terrified of humans and tend to go for small animals and in very few cases small children. :P I honestly wouldn't worry too much about a coyote. We live very close to another major park in Vancouver and there are coyotes all of the time in our neighbourhood. There are definitely a lot of missing cats, but I've never heard of a human being attacked out here. I would be more terrified of a cougar :P

  15. coyotes are more afraid of you than you are of them. true story. they are big scaredy cats and honestly if one saw you, it would run away!

i've seen 'em in person (i grew up in western washington state) and they mainly just stared at you with their weird yellow eyes before darting away, tail between their legs.

  17. Haha, funny prince you have there ;-) I cannot imagine what I would do if I run into a coyote. Stare in big surprise and then call the zoo to ask if they are missing any, probably, because we don't have them walking around in the wild around here. :P I am sure you could take on a coyote, girl, you are tough! :-D

  18. Awww, love these shots. So romantic. And it was seem that your prince has a silly sense of humour like mine. We have had many a lovely couple shot ruined over the years by him pulling a face, but that's him and I wouldn't change him. X

  21. coyotes are shy and more scared of you. most coyotes won't even come near you. but a whole pack of coyotes (if they're hungry) might be a different story. still, i'd be more afraid of wolves or mountain lions. on a shinier note, you look beautiful!

  24. I live on a golf course, and there are coyotes everywhere! They actually started attacking/eating small dogs and animals, so people were allowed to kill the coyotes. My neighbor made a petition to stop the killing, and it worked! But please, don't leave your small animals outside at night.

I was on the golf course in the winter with my friend, taking her dog for a walk. We went by a forest, and we could see a pack (at least 3 or 4) coyotes looking at us! We ran for the hills (which is probably not ideal in a situation like this)and took her dog back in!

Just don't mess with them, and I reckon they'll leave you alone.

  25. you are something else, danagirl. i feel this weird kinship with coyotes and grew up howling BACK at them with my mom in the country. speaking for the pack, i promise none of us will come out and eat you! :) xo.
