the ol' fishin' hole!

chiffon top & bracelet: c/o oasap
ring & pants: f21

We headed down to the old fishin' hole today! I don't know what I'm suddenly calling it that, it's really just part of the river that runs through our backyard. There was nothing but wee little fishies, but I'm fine with that because I tend to feel bad when big ones are yanked out of the water.

I also decided to weigh myself this morning after not having done that since I started trying to change my diet and eat healthier foods. I pretty much cut out regularly eating junk foods, sugars and starches.  I used to drink a can of Coke every single day, so I'd say this has been a huge accomplishment! I apparently lost ten pounds, and let me tell you, it feels fantastic to see that number! I know that I'm not overweight by any means, I have a tall/skinny build by nature and over the years my eating habits went pretty downhill so I tacked on a few unnecessary fatty pounds. It just feels good to know that I can change that around. I try not to check my weight often, because it's really an evil thing to do to yourself if you think about it, but it's good to check in every once in a while to see that what I've been doing and putting into my body is working.  Now I can work on toning it up!

It is a good day :) What did you do this afternoon?

  3. I've just been having a lazy afternoon. It's too hot to do anything other than sit in front of a fan with a wet towel. :)

  4. I recently started a food journal and stopped drinking Coke every day. It's amazing how much you eat and don't know it. I'm so pleased when I step on the scale every Saturday morning and see that I have lost another pound or two. Good on you for losing 10 whole pounds! It feels so good to lose some weight -- and never find it again :)

  6. We set up a slip and slide in our yard and we all went on it. Including adults! So much fun. I love the post and congrats on losing 10 pounds.

  7. Aw, you guys are adorbs! And I know what you mean about losing weight...I, too, am slender by nature/build, but it's so easy to put on few kilos and just feel not quite right, espesh in winter. I've been trying to eat smaller meals as of late and not drink soft drinks...just wanna lose a few excess kilos and tone up before we go Europe mid-August. :-) xo

  8. Definitely keep with the ideology that weighing yourself often is evil...water weight and other fluctuations can make you feel bummed out when you're doing it every day! I usually do it once a week or so instead of obsessing :)

  9. 10 lbs! go you! i would give anything to lose 10 pounds. i can weigh myself in the morning and be 4 pounds heavier when i weight at night. it's frustrating. xo!

  11. Way to go, girl! I cut sodas out of my diet a few years ago. I still have one on a very rare occasion, but quitting them and other sugars can make a huge difference.
