Cozy... but not too cozy if you know what I mean.

Sweater: c/o Romwe | Custom Bracelet: c/o Jamie B Designs | Leggings: f21 | Slippers: MukLuks

Nothing says fall is here like big chunky knit sweaters. I live in them in the colder months. Something about them just makes me want to curl up next to the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and do absolutely nothing at all. Is September really almost over?

Jamie made this hand stamped bracelet for me. It's from one of my favourite quotes "she believed she could, so she did". If you check out her shop she can make one for you too and we can be bracelet buddies... that sounds pretty exclusive and awesome doesn't it? (wink wink).

Dustin is going to be in a play. How random... but it's true. One of his friends in the area directs plays or something and gave him a part. He has a rehearsal tonight. Apparently when he was younger he used to be in all kinds of plays. He even showed me a newspaper article calling him the "next big thing". Yep, my fiance is a legit actor in disguise.  I never thought I would utter the words "my fiance is in a play", but here we are. I did tell him though that if his part includes groping another woman he's out, haha.  By the way, I never did understand how actors can get away with stuff like that and not have it be considered cheating. "It's just acting" they say... but that doesn't excuse the fact that they are doing things that would definitely be considered cheating if they weren't acting. Not sure I can be convinced, what do you think?

(i used my A Little Vintage photoshop action on the pics. and XL through Small sponsor spots are opening up.)

  1. The lighting is amazing, can I borrow your slippers ;) And seriously, how do actors get away with that kind of thing? I couldn't watch a movie with my husband "acting" that way.

  3. You look cute, and it's strange when actors do represent to like and be with someone else.

  5. I agree. Acting or not, you're still touching, groping, kissing another person. It's weird and I wouldn't be able to watch it - so how do the spouses of actors get by with seeing it + doing it themselves?

    So strange.
And I love big sweaters :D

  10. I love your photos.!! And I too live in oversized knit jumpers in the colder months but unfortunately even though September is almost over here in Greece we're still in shorts and tank tops cause there's still 30 degrees celcius here.
I think it's cheating wether it's acting or not. Even if it's acting he's still enjoing him self. I don't understand how the actors can do that and then go back home to their wifes and do the same but their wifes aren't jealous. It's still cheating.

  12. I've done some theater in the past and, not kidding, it really is "just acting." Well, actually, it's MORE than that. Most of the time, those types of things are awkward. Staged kisses, at first, are incredibly, incredibly awkward. I can tell you this--acting involves a lot of feeling (again, feeling, NOT emotions). You have to work yourself up to FEEL things in order to make a scene real and believable. In a way, it has to be believable to you, the actor. That doesn't mean you're emotionally attached to another actor/actress. They are just there to play a character, to whole-heartedly dive into who they are representing. And, more importantly, they help you prepare for your role as well. When actors say, "I was off preparing for my new role," they're not lying. It takes a lot of work because, really, you have to become someone else. You spend a lot of time being someone else's personality and feelings ... which is why I don't think acting is cheating.

    1. hrmmm... i had an interesting thought reading this...
"that doesn't mean you're emotionally attached to another actor/actress", but a lot of the time neither does cheating. i almost feel as though people who cheat are playing their own roles... most of the time a cheat is just that... a feeling you act on. i think i'd have to have a REALLY open relationship to be ok with my guy touching another woman. i just don't see how men especially can NOT secretly be into/turned on by another woman 'acting' herself all over him lol. just my 2 cents!

  13. Sorry for the rambling. :) It's just a little hard to describe what I've felt/done.

Unrelated, that sweater does look really comfy! I likes. I need to get me some more of those.

  15. I totally know what you mean about the acting/cheating thing. I probably wouldn't be with an actor that was always in kissing/sex scenes (like movie stars) because I wouldn't be able to handle it. Especially when crap like Brad & Angelina happen! :)

  17. I can't wait to wear sweaters, but it's still in the high 80s to mid 90s here in Houston. Also, I'd love to be bracelet buddies! Such a wonderful quote to wear around.

  20. You look so warm and cozy, and I bet the whole outfit felt very cuddly!!! I love cuddly outfits. ^_^

Also, YES, AMEN! I so agree with on the acting/cheating thing. Even when Jen and I play World of Warcraft and stuff, we come across adults in real life who's "character" has a partner. And they're married in real life. And their characters partner is not their real life one. Sounds like cheating, but of course, it's considered acceptable. We never do that, though, 'cause we have your same point of view!

  26. I act and have been in several productions where I've had to kiss and feel up men (and women). Those scenes are so planned out down to the last second that there is absolutely nothing sexy about them. Rehearsals are spent with the director directly over you saying things like, "okay, now pull her hair....okay. Give it a beat. Now, you climb on top of him." By the time performance comes, you're thinking: hair pull. beat. climb on top. What makes kissing/ physical interaction so arousing is the spontaneity. When it's predictable and planned out it just feels like doing any other scene and nothing sexy about it. I doubt those scenes thrill my boyfriend when he watches it but he understands that it's just part of my job.

  32. I had to kiss a guy my senior year because we were the romantic leads. I was dating someone at the time, but he was the assistant director. Can you say awkward? He didn't care though and it really was just acting... considering my acting partner and I hated each other the moment we left the stage. haha I don't understand in movies when people have to do more intimate things though. That stuff I don't understand. But kissing on stage or something like that, I do kind of understand how it's just acting.

  33. How crazy, that is my favorite quote as well! I made an iphone case with that quote on it (http://society6.com/Courtneyvk/Fields-of-Empowerment_Print) because I want to always believe in doing more with the talent I have been given and not be held back by anyone else's standards or doubts. I also read your post on wanting to be a millionaire and I say go for it because we all have the ability inside us it all just depends on who decides to work for it or not. I believe in you, so do it!

If you believe in yourself you can get much farther than you think...thats why I love this quote.
Nice post and I love your outfits!
