I think a simple text link is fine, as long as it's directed to your own blog and not something deceiving. I do think that if there is too much going on in your comment signature/footer it can get kind of spammy though. Blogs might also automatically mark your comment as spam with all the giveaway links, etc. I don't ever personally leave giveaway links or info in my comments because I do know a lot of bloggers instantly dismiss them as spam.
