This necklace that I'm wearing was made by the awesome people over at Omerica Organic. They custom create each piece in their shop and use organic materials like wood for truly unique pieces. What's more, they actually plant trees to offset their wood consumption and use wind energy to power their shop! Basically, they are all around good people making great things (pendants, plugs, rings, and dog tags to name a few.) Check them out and watch some of their videos when you have a chance!! This one shows you exactly what goes into creating their custom jewelry and truly speaks volumes about their company. I don't think I've ever been so enthralled with a shop, how they make things, and the people behind it before!
While I'm on the topic of eco-friendly things, there is a petition I'm asking you to sign because it is a huge deal. The Great Lakes are losing 10 BILLION gallons of water a day due to erosion and dredging and the government hasn't done a thing to stop it. Water levels are getting so low and causing so many problems. I live right by the Georgian Bay which is being affected and it makes me sad to think that this is happening to our popular little beach town. It's not just here though, it's all throughout the Great Lakes and affects the US as well. Please read this for more info and to sign the petition to help bring this to the attention of our Canadian and US leaders, and provide them with a viable solution to stop the issue. What is that quote? "I always wondered why somebody didn't do something about that... Then I realized that I am somebody."
