OPI: James Bond 007 Skyfall Collection Review

Obsessed.  The only way I can describe how I feel about the new OPI Skyfall collection. This collection was created in celebration of the 50 year anniversary of James Bond 007. As a girl who spent many days of my childhood playing GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo 64, I couldn’t help but be excited.

Ok, so I’m teasing you little, because this collection doesn’t even come out until October. It was inspired by glamour and danger, and I seriously feel like stepping into a leather dress, dark sunglasses, and 6″ heels with a (fake) gun strapped around my thigh when I paint it on. Skyfall will be available in twelve striking shades as a limited edition promotion in October, and I definitely suggest you check it out. There will also be a super special edition polish that I’ll get to in a minute… Here are a few of my favourites from the line (with some swatches!):

Live and Let Die – It’s a dark jet black with tiny specks of gold throughout. It kind of has a greenish tint and I only needed two coats for full coverage. As a black polish lover, it’s amazing.

Tomorrow Never Dies – A super pretty royal purple. Appears a bit more purple than this photo, but I tried my best. Love this colour because it is unlike anything else I own. 2-3 coats does the job. Goes on a little more sheer than Live and Let Die.

The Living Daylights – This is seriously a party in a bottle and would be awesome for New Years. It is packed full of multicoloured glitter sparkles in gold, silver, aqua, and orange. I found there to be plenty of them, unlike other sparkle polishes that have you continuously dipping the brush to grab onto more. I applied it using my glitter nail polish trick.

Finally, The Man With The Golden Gun. This is that super special one I mentioned above. It’s a limited edition REAL 18k gold top coat! Seriously, there is real gold on my nails right now. If that doesn’t make a girl feel special, I don’t know what will.  It’s a gorgeous gold leaf polish that works well over so many colours. I also applied it using my glitter nail polish trick!!  It even comes in a fancy box and bottle to make you feel even more chic. This one will also be available in October and will retail for just under $40.

What do you think of these shades? Which is your favourite? And would you buy a real gold nail polish??
