SEPHORA Moonshadow Baked Palette – In The Tropics

It’s not too often that I fall in love with an entire eyeshadow palette. Usually I’ll have a couple of favourite colours in the set and rarely touch the others. This one is different. I’ve fallen in love with every single colour and have been using them daily.

Now, normally I’m a matte girl. I don’t wear sparkly or shimmery shadows, but I thought I’d change things up this summer. I went searching for a palette with more of a metallic finish as opposed to sparkles and came across this limited edition Sephora Collection Moonshadow Baked Palette in In The Tropics. Immediately I liked the colours but wasn’t sure if they would be too flashy or if they would actually apply pigmented enough to get that metallic glow.

After reading the reviews (as I always do!), I saw that the majority of people said to apply this wet and there would be no problems. I decided to give it a try and let me just say that I am so happy I did!

I have been applying them wet as suggested and there is definitely a huge difference from applying dry. The colours POP and have a sheen that is just amazing.  Above is the first row of colours and below is the bottom.

Amazing, right!? I’ve been choosing a different one to wear every day. I apply it all over my lid and then fill in the crease with a matte shade. I think it’s important to be sure to mix your shimmery shades with mattes so you don’t end up looking too “lady of the night”, if you know what I mean.

The variety of shades in this palette would also work well for any eye colour and I think they did a wonderful job of creating this little collection of colours.

I’m definitely eying their other baked palettes “In The Nude” and “In The Dark” as I think either of those would look great for Fall.

If you want to check out this palette, I suggest you do so quickly as it’s on sale for just $19 right now and limited edition. Having just noticed this myself, I might pick up another haha. Remember to apply with a wet brush if you really want those colours to pop.

Are you a fan of shimmer, metallic, or matte shades?
