14 Days of Love! Heart Nail Art!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Welcome to the seventh day of our 14 Days of Love series!  Yesterday Heather showed you how to make a cute fabric covered can (a great vase for the fabric flower bouquet I showed you how to make!).  If you missed any projects, you can view them on my blog here and on Heather's blog here.

Alright so today I wanted to do something to help pretty yourself for that big day of love!  I'm talking about Valentine's day, of course!  Here is a cute and easy heart nail art tutorial to help get you in the mood!

All you will need is some white polish, some red polish, and some tooth picks!

Start by painting your nails with 2 coats of white polish. Let dry.

Grab your red polish and a toothpick and draw the outline of the top of a heart onto your nail with the toothpick.  I found it helps to dab it on in dots. When your outlines are done, all you need to do is grab your polish brush and fill in the tips with red!

Finish with a clear coat when complete and you're ready to spread some love through your fingertips!

Oh, I used some cheap-o nail polish, because I change my nails way too often to be concerned about a brand haha... Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On and Love & Beauty (forever 21) in Tomato (similar colour here).

What do you have planned for Valentine's day? A hot date? A quiet night in? Or are you hopping aboard  the anti-Valentine train?

Feel free to pin! Pin It

Hey Dana,
I'm relatively new to your blog, but loving it so far.

I also wrote a polish post today, but yours turned out way better than mine. ;)

100% adore this! when i saw the nail art in your post about the latest plushies and the super cute felt fortune cookies i was hoping there would be a how to somewhere. yah! well done lades, so innovative and darling. i really dig the 1st image with the title addition and have to say that you have really lovely hands. i always feel like mine are too pudgy so i admire when i see lean, long, feminine fingers. ♥
